What Am I Taking In?

You are not alone; Sexual sin is more pervasive than most Christian communities are willing to talk about. Unfortunately, our silence keeps millions of people in bondage.  There are some indications of the extent of the problem when you take a look at YouTube.  The sin of sexual immorality and related perversion and how to be free is a big topic.  Joshua Selman’s Video received 1.5M views.  Another title that caught my attention was,  “Has my sexual sin made me unsavable? This video had a whopping 918k views. Allan Par’s video, how to stop falling into sexual sin, received 263k views. Tony Evan’s video titled how to receive healing and turn from sexual sin received 656k views.   It’s a problem, and it is time to talk about it and be honest.  Many are pretending that sexual sin is not in their backyard. The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:13 that there is no sin or temptation that has overtaken you that is not common to man. This scripture reminds us that you are not alone; sin is common to man. The enemy always tries to make you feel alone, but you are not and …. The Lord will make a way of escape for you.

Have you ever wondered what has your ear, what has your eyes? What has your focus? I often wondered how I could be so drawn to masturbation, pornography, and the secret desire to try a woman. I loved men and have always enjoyed male relationships; however, I kept falling deeper and deeper into sin. I knew it was wrong and desired to get out, but really didn’t know how. I was in church and falling farther and farther away.  The start was masturbation, then porn, and then you can guess it just keeps going deeper and deeper into a sexually perverted hole.  This deep, dark hole, I know, you are somehow at the bottom of, looking up for a glimmer of light, trying to find your way of escape. You want out of this dark place that has slippery walls that keep you sliding back down, further and further into Satan’s earthly pit. Maybe your sexual pit was fornication, adultery, polygamy, trying a threesome, or strange perverted desires with objects and animals. 

Girl, I ain’t gonna hold back any punches here. It’s time to get real. The truth is that even the church doesn’t talk about this. But do you know how many women are in sexual bondage? The enemy has us in chains, slaves in his dungeon, and we are afraid to reach out to anyone, much less the church about it. He loves to shame you and place you in condemnation, making you feel that you can’t experience true freedom and that you are just doomed to his chains and fetters. The devil is a complete liar, for sure. But if you don’t turn this thing around, you will go to the eternal pit where there is no return. Thank God you have another day to get it right! I don’t know what your sexual sin is; it doesn’t matter; the question is, how did you get there, and how can you find your way out?

Assessing this pit is tough. You realize that no man, woman, or anything can take you from this low place. You are in a place that only the true and living God can rescue you from, and believe me, he can do it and restore you. I am a living witness. How do we assess this pit? What led us here? This, my friend, is so important. If you don’t know what led you to this place, you will likely return. Believe me, if you return and allow those sexual demons to come back after you have been delivered and set free, Satan will come back with his demons seven times worse, and this time, they will be even more wicked than the former demons. (Matthew 12:43-45) Do NOT allow him to come back to the place of living water! We have got to find the openings, close those doors, windows, and cracks, and keep them closed.

Remember, I am not a therapist, psychiatrist, or licensed health/ or mental health professional, just a woman with some spiritual gems to share, praying that my testimony will help you to overcome. (Revelation 12:11)

Now let’s get into this, what are you taking in? Are you watching content on television, movies, social media, or in print that is seductive, and lustful? Are you listening to music with sexual tones and content that goes against the word of God? Are you listening to friends, family, or even acquaintances’ foul, sleazy conversations?  Are your connections honoring God, be it friends’ family, or others? Let me give you some examples: television content that is filled with homosexual scenes, adulterous scenes, or even general sexual scenes is dangerous to your eye gates. Print magazines, books, or other materials that have half-dressed or fully-undressed men and women and articles related to sexual pleasures and worldly sexual lusts are deadly for your eyes and your spirit.  What about social media? How much time are you on it? Do you read the sexy posts, or do you quickly scroll past them? Let me get all the way real: are you on “Only Fans?”  Does your circle participate in this stuff? Come on now, folks, let’s shame this dirty, nasty, wicked devil and allow the truth to emerge. The secrets are out, and it’s time for freedom.

The truth is that our ears and our eyes are entry points where the enemy can infiltrate. He knows this full well and uses it to his total advantage and our total bondage. When we take in filth, we become blinded and darkened, and our eyes become glazed over with Satan’s filthy scales. Don’t fall into the trap of thinking that you are just “looking” or just “listening.” Matthew 5:28 says that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery in his heart. When we look and lust, we have sinned. Matthew 5:29 lets us know that our eyes can cause us to stumble.

David is a great example of someone who allowed his eyes to cause him to stumble. King David looked out from his balcony one day while beautiful Bathsheba was bathing. David summoned her and chose to sleep with this woman who was married. It gets worse when she tells him that she is pregnant, David creates a murderous scheme to kill her husband. He carried the plan out, and then, to top it off, he took her as his wife.  His eyes led him to foul thoughts, leading him to an unthinkable action.

Paul had scales fall from his eyes when he was awakened. (Acts 9:18) He was blinded by his ears and eyes. We know he was a well-read, well-learned Pharisee who had been hearing and watching many lies before him through traditions, probably for many years. The scales represented Satan’s covering, the blindness, darkness, and ignorance of Paul being able to receive and take in the full Gospel of Christ.  2 Corinthians 4:4 tells us that we are unable to see the truth of the Gospel due to Satan’s intentional blinding of believers. Just like the scales fell off of Paul’s eyes, they can fall off of yours, too.

Who are you connected to?  Are your affiliations Christlike? Is your circle a Godly circle? Not just in word, but in deed?  Are the communications with your circle Godly? Are their affiliations Godly? Do they suggest participating in activities that do not honor God? Are particular people a snare for you for ungodly sexual behavior? Are they complicit when it comes to sexual sin?  Who are you engaging in sexual sin with? What is their lifestyle, their conversation? If you suggest stopping, what is their response? 1 Corinthians 15:33 tells us that evil communications corrupt good manners.  

 You can’t hide from God. His spirit lets us know when we engage in wrong behavior. If you are reading this, you probably have been convicted by the Holy Spirit to make changes. Trust me, he is a total gentleman, and he will not drag you out of this place if you still want to play footsie with these demons. He will let you stay and wallow with the pigs in the wet, nasty mud.

What is a woman to do who has been found in sexual sin? There is a way out my friend. Let me lead you to the beginning of your freedom.

1) Confess- Go to God and honestly confess your sins before him.

1 John 1:9 - ⁹ If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (KJV)

2) Repent- Repent means to change your mind, to amend with abhorrence; (Strong’s Concordance) turn away, turn in a new direction

* It means that you don’t continue in the sin. God will give you the grace to stop. With little or no effort, he can erase the pictures from your mind and the memories associated with the images.

Acts 3:19 - ¹⁹ Repent ye therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord. (KJV)

Do you see that? He will bring times of refreshing to you. Hallelujah!

1 Thessalonians 5:22 (abstain from all appearance of evil)

1. separate from those you are participating in sexual sin with (no meetings, no texts, no social media interaction, etc.)
2. Immediately stop watching media- or viewing sexually racy print materials. (Go on a media fast / replace the time that you browsed on the media to do something else: reading your word, praising, praying, exercising, journaling) Ask the Holy Spirit to give you the strength to overcome daily
3. ask the lord to erase the memories, smells, the sounds that connect you with the sin

3) Accept / Re-dedicate- If you have never accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, this is the time to do it now. Say this simple prayer: Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus, I accept your son Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I believe that he was born of the virgin Mary, I believe that he walked this earth in the flesh, I believe that Jesus is the only way for me to obtain right standing with you Father, I believe that he died for my sins and I believe that he will return for his church. I am confessing this with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord and savior, and I believe in my heart that you, Father, raised him from the dead. Thank you for saving me this day; thank you for cleansing me and forgiving me of all my sins.

If you need to re-dedicate your life to Christ again, say the above prayer and ask God to forgive you for the sin separation. Welcome home, prodigal! A robe and a ring is waiting for you.

Romans 10:9- ⁹ That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (KJV)

4) Develop New Routines – ask the Lord to give you new routines and habits to replace the ungodly ones.

1. a) Study your word- (Need to think about new things- Godly things- Meditate on his word- you will have good success. (Joshua 1:8) You want to know the promises that he has for you, what he desires for you. Find love in Him, divine counsel, correction, and joy in His Word. (You were searching for empty fulfillment in your sexual sin)

Hosea 4:6- ⁶ My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

1. b) Praying – Learn to Pray (Read about how Jesus taught his disciples how to pray). Pray often. The Bible says that the prayers of the righteous avail much. (James 5:16-17) The Bible also tells us that he hears and answers the prayers of the righteous ( Proverbs 15:29)
2. c) Thankfulness- Continue to thank the Lord daily.
3. d) Develop a life of Praise.

This, my friend, is a great start for you! Congratulations.

Let me be clear: sexual demons are no joke. They come with spiritual soul ties that have to be broken and severed.  I would recommend:

1) Deliverance – with a deliverance minister (sadly, they are hard to find) 

2) Discipleship

3) Maintenance

4) Find a community that is not afraid to talk about sexual sin & that will disciple you

* Other things may be necessary:

1. a) these sexual demons may stem from other root issues- ancestral, wounds/trauma/abuse

these can be discovered through prayer, fasting, and deliverance

1. b) Find other open spiritual doors that could be hindering you from total freedom

My journey was filled with sexual sin, occult/new age influences/witchcraft/high control groups, childhood sexual abuse, and toxic relationships.  I couldn’t find one whole program that addressed it all. I couldn’t find any community, church, or otherwise to discuss this. Witchcraft is spiritual, and a therapist didn’t seem to be the answer.  Occult, witchcraft, new age, and high control group demons are stubborn, and I didn’t understand what I had been connected with and influenced by.  I soon realized that many church leaders are connected to occult groups. God told me to document my journey so that I could be a resource for others seeking freedom.  So, guess what? I created what I didn’t see with God. The program came from the throne room.
