Sacrifices Work

What’s the big deal about a sacrifice? A sacrifice is something that we don’t often talk about in church today unless it is the wonderful sacrifice of the blood of Jesus to save us and cleanse us from our sins. This sacrifice is the most beautiful sacrifice ever offered.  Yet we as Christians remain in the dark, dumb, and unable to battle an enemy that still uses secret sacrifices today to gain wealth and achieve status and position at the expense of unbeknownst individuals just trying to live their daily lives.  It’s time to pull the covers off of the enemy. 

Many sacrifices were offered by the Israelites unto God at holy altars. The body of Christ today, still uses sacrifices today to offer unto our Lord. Although we don’t burn animals and present them on the same kind of altars, we still give offerings unto God. When you are at church, the altar is a place where sacrifices are made.  We give sacrifices of praise and thanksgiving to our God.  (Hebrews 13:5 & Psalm 116:17) Paul reminds the body in Romans 12:1 that we should offer ourselves as living sacrifices that are holy and acceptable to God, which is our reasonable service.

The bigger secret is that the enemy offers up sacrifices in the kingdom of darkness as well. The enemy mimics God in everything.  As Christ shed his blood as a sacrifice for our sins. The enemy also uses blood sacrifices. Christians are clueless that these practices are even going on. This is exactly the way the enemy likes it so that believers will have absolutely no plan of attack against it. Yes, many Occult groups secretly practice sacrifices for gain, protection, longevity, long life, wealth, an advantage over a competitor, to harm an enemy, initiation for entry in a group, trades, secure a love interest, ruin a family, ruin a marriage, trading destinies and the list goes on. Friends, it’s not just celebrities doing it. These practices are happening right in our backyards today. Satan’s black market is up and running right under our noses. His kingdom still uses people as sacrifices for the advancement of his kingdom. These practices are very well-known in certain countries. People often go and secretly visit the witch doctor for these kinds of demonic transactions. Your family, closest friends, and co-workers could very likely be the culprits of your calamity.   

Those who are laden in sin, not submitted to the Lord, are perfect candidates to be offered up on illegal altars. Remember, Satan searches for the earth, looking for people to devour. (1 Peter 5:8) Sacrifices are linked to curses in the demonic kingdom. They are linked to blessings in God’s kingdom. Foreign gods require sacrifices. In order to get something. If you want something in the kingdom of darkness, you must make a sacrifice at the demonic altar. Demonic sacrifices involve altars, priests, often blood, rituals, sometimes food, chanting or singing, gifts, incense, and or offerings made by fire. You will never be privy to the secret occult rituals that are part of sacrificing.  Godly Sacrifices involve altars, priests, singing, offerings, and gifts as well.  We don’t need blood in Godly altars anymore. But do you notice how Satan has mimicked God’s practice? He is a copycat.

The Bible is clear in Proverbs, a curse without a cause cannot come. (Proverbs 26:2) We already have a huge hint from this scripture: those that are submitted to the Lord, following Him in word and deed, prayed up, praised up, fasted up, studying to show themselves approved, living a holy lifestyle; a curse can’t come upon you.  Many would like to believe that curses are not legitimate.  I would encourage you to read Deuteronomy 28, where the Lord tells the Israelites that they would be blessed if they followed the laws of the Lord, or cursed if they chose not to. The Israelites continued to break the covenant with the Lord our God, placing themselves continually under a curse.  We also know that scripture tells us that those who put their trust in man are cursed.  (Jeremiah 17:5-Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord.)  Curses are real. They are associated with misfortune, calamity, poverty, sickness, lack of favor, backwardness, stagnation, delay, confusion, and sometimes death.

It’s one thing to choose your own curse. Yes, people do curse themselves, from the words of their mouths! It is quite another thing to fall under a curse due to someone else’s selfish behavior. Unfortunately, this, my friend, is the kind of world we live in, a world of people with hardened hearts and no empathy, a world that has waxed cold.

A Sacrifice- The word sacrifice in Greek is the word thyo. (Strong’s G2380 ) In Strong’s Concordance, the word means to slay, kill, or slaughter ( for any purpose); to sacrifice                 (properly by fire). The word slay in Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary means to kill violently or wantonly.

We really need to read our Bible, understanding that there is nothing new under the sun.  (Ecclesiastes 1:9 ) Let’s look at a story in 2 Kings 3:26-27. The King of Moab, a king who frequently opposed the Israelites, decided to go against Jehoram, King of Israel. King Jehoram got wind of the plan and sought allies to aid him in battling the King of Moab. He gathered two other kings, Jehoshaphat, the king of Judah, and also the king of Edom.  These kings agreed to help King Jehoram. Balak, the Moab king, attempted to attack Edom but was unsuccessful and had to retreat.  Here is the kicker in the story. The king decides to take his eldest son, who was to be his successor, and offer him up as a burnt offering (sacrifice) on the wall. This sacrifice sent off furious anger against Israel, and as a result, Israel had to back off. Sacrifices work. The sad part about this is the king wanted to win so badly that he sacrificed his own son without a thought. He sacrificed the soon-to-be successor of his throne and offered him as a burnt offering on the wall. The Amplified version tells us that he offered his son up to the god Chemosh, and as a result, there was great wrath against Israel. The NIV version tells us that the fury against Israel was great.  Ultimately, the horrific act, caused the Israelites to withdraw and turn back. This behavior is ungodly, yes. It worked, for a time.  We know that God’s plans always prevail.

 Some occult groups do that very thing today; it is in their secret agreements to sacrifice sons and daughters or even those who are special to them, often for filthy lucre or advancement, even protection.

King Balak also tried to make sacrifices to curse the children of Israel in Numbers chapters twenty-two and twenty-three. He built twenty-one altars and was unsuccessful. Somehow, this king understood the power of a sacrifice at an altar. I promise you that this text is a good read and full of powerful messages for us today. God protected the Israelites, and he will protect you, too. Notice that the children of Israel were unaware of these altars & sacrifices being erected. This is the same for you and me today. Satan’s wicked operatives are everywhere, witchcraft and the occult are more widely practiced than you know. Some of these operatives, unfortunately, could be some of your well-loved and respected friends and family.

Some evil sacrifices result in death, and others result in continued patterns of unexplained defeat in your life. You could be a victim of sacrifice if suddenly everything in your life is suddenly a disaster. You have absolutely no favor, everything you put your hand to falters, everyone turns against you, all areas of your life are a disaster, unexplained illnesses that the doctors can’t even explain, family, friends, job, health, finances are attacked. It is likely that someone has participated in witchcraft against you. Understand, that Balak was engaging in utilizing witchcraft to achieve his desires. He was jealous of Israel’s prosperity and potential. This could be true for you as well. Voodoo, Obeah, and Santeria are just a few witchcraft practices. But also, some of your well-respected organizations, brotherly and sisterly fraternal type organizations, engage in this as well, and unfortunately, many church leaders are participants. Devastation will continue unless you decide to go against these altars in the spirit realm with a spiritual batter ram.

The truth is, you have to diligently attack this in prayer, worship, fasting, warfare, and intimacy with Christ. You can’t stop. Remember, King Balak, didn’t stop trying to curse the Israelites. He built twenty-one altars. The number of altars gives you an indication of how dedicated that enemy is to take down the people of God.

Here is the beautiful thing to remember: when you are a child of God, a true child of God, the enemy can’t touch you. (1 John 5:18) It doesn’t mean that you won’t have attacks, but the weapons that are formed against you just won’t prosper. (Isaiah 54:17) You have Holy Ghost insulation. You have on your armor, and you are using it regularly; you are sober and vigilant; you stay ready by being immersed in the word day and night, and you are not caught with defilement coming from your mouth. You stay in a repentant state, thankful state, and grateful state,

Numbers 23:23 – There was no enchantment or divination that could come against Jacob or Israel.  King Balak was busy continually trying to curse the Israelites. We are told that he heard how Israel demolished the Amorites and they were many.  Ultimately, he was afraid of this group, he saw them as a threat. So, he hired Balaam, a well-known diviner, to curse the group so that he could overtake them. (Numbers 22) Balaam couldn’t curse them. How can you curse whom God has blessed?  In fact, Balaam realized that he could only bless them by command; Balaam couldn’t reverse the command that the Lord had given him, despite the many altars built for cursing.  Numbers 23:20-23 Further, the scripture states that there was no iniquity found in Jacob, and there was nothing that was perverse found in Israel. Did you see that? In order for a curse to alight, there must be iniquity and perverseness. As a result of this, no enchantment against Jacob will stand, nor will any divination withstand against Israel.  Do you see that? No witch, warlock, spell, curse, or enchantment can stand against you when the Lord is for you.

Now- what is iniquity? Strong’s Concordance H205 Aven- (uh-ven)—wickedness, mischief, unrighteous, evil, false, idolatry, unjust, trouble, and vanity. The word vanity, according to Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary, is inflated pride in oneself.

God found them to be free of iniquity.

Now, what is perverseness? Strong’s Concordance H5999 Amal-(uh-mall)- toil, trouble, labor, mischief, of body or mind, grievance, sorrow, travail, wearisome, wickedness,

God found them to be free of perverseness.

They were in good standing with God. Therefore, He would not allow a curse to fall over them. Friends, we can’t stop those who are not submitted to God from doing evil. However, we can make sure that we are in right standing with God. He is committed to protecting those who follow him, serve him, love him and have accepted his son as the only way. The Lord will hide you when you submit your life wholly to him and remove all mixture. He will fight for you and protect you.

What do you do?

1) Make sure you are not involved in any sin; if you are, repent and turn your life toward Christ.

2) Repent for yourself and your ancestors involved in the occult and witchcraft & new age groups

3) Separate yourself from occult /witchcraft/new age groups and people associated with them

(you will have to do your research/they will not tell you)

4) Destroy any idols or images that are linked with occult/witchcraft/new age

5)  Dedicate your life to Christ or re-dedicate your life to Christ

6) Begin tearing down the altars & breaking curses in prayer

7) Seek God to see if there are any other open doors to the enemy

8) Continually pray, worship & fast

9) Engage in spiritual warfare constantly against the enemy

10)Read your word day and night; Build your faith

11) Seek deliverance; you will probably need it

12) Join a community for discipleship that can help you through

* Occult/ witchcraft/new age groups are not to be played with; the gods guiding them have power, and the demons are stubborn. The people are not in control, they are blinded and are used as tools for the enemy.  Don’t take it lightly. Armor up, this is a spiritual war. The good news is Jesus is greater in you. This will cause you to cling to God like never before!

My journey was filled with sexual sin, occult, secret societies, new age influences, witchcraft, high control groups, childhood sexual abuse, and toxic relationships. I was reared and rooted in church and my relationships were “church folk”.  I hope you catch what I am saying. I couldn’t find one whole program that really addressed it all. It was the worst kind of spiritual war.  The average Sunday sermon and Wednesday night Bible study were not cutting it.  I soon realized that many church leaders are connected to occult groups. He that has an ear, let him hear. Satan’s kingdom is not divided, it will not tell you how to fight against his own kingdom. Catch that in the Spirit. God told me to document my journey so that I could be a resource for others.  So, guess what? I created what I didn’t see with God. The program came from the throne room.
